He is survived by: his mother Shelby Grady (Ballard); his wife Debbie Simmons; his children, Brandon Gates (Jacquelyn) of Tuckerman, Mikkel Simmons of Ocala and Jonathan Simmons (Rachel) of Chesterfield, Virginia; his stepchildren, Heather Smith and Corey Hebert; his grandchildren, Malachi Gates, Jaxson Gates and Cole Gates; his nephew David Johnson (Kim) of Greenbrier; his niece Presley; his sisters, Jeannie Fisher (Roger) of Olyphant and Melissa Weaver (Terry) of Orlando, Florida; his cousins, Danny Davidson and Keith McIntosh; and his close friend Kim Bradley.
