It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth McGaughey of Newport, Arkansas, who passed away on July 5, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Nelson and Agnes Nelson (Griffin); her husband John Cecil McGaughey; her daughter Connie Stuart; and her siblings, J. H. Nelson Sr., Faye Gaeke, Edith Drake and Garner McDaniel.
She is survived by: her son John Mark McGaughey (Beverly) of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Lee McGaughey Stuart (Kimberly) of Jonesboro, Amanda Rowe (Nathan) of Prairie Grove and Ryan McGaughey (Kenzie) of Fayetteville; her sister Jackie Gieptner (Ervin) of Houston, Texas.; and her great grandchildren, Makayla, Kellan Rowe and Jocelyn Stuart. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
