It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marvin Thaxton Sr. (Newport, Arkansas), born in Electra, Texas, who passed away on April 16, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Montgomery Dell Thaxton (Mon D.) and Ida Scheurer Thaxton; his brother Kenneth A. Thaxton Sr.; his grandson Paul David Henderson; and his great grandchildren, Andrew David Henderson and Aiden Matthew Henderson.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Moore Alexander; his children, Rebecca Henderson (Mike), Gail Fogleman (Frank) and Marvin Thaxton Jr. (Cindy); his grandchildren, Sarah Pennington (Lee), Matthew Henderson (Chanie), Rebecca Brannon (Stephen), Franklin Fogleman (Kelly), Mary Catherine Fogleman, Lindley Abrams (Chis), Laura Rikard (Justin), Keaton Thaxton (Lindsey) and Clayton Thaxton (Elizabeth); and his great grandchildren, Faith, Peyton, Ian Pennington, Chanie Kate, Aaron, Asher Henderson, Cooper, Brooks Brannon, Lillian, Cross Fogleman, Levi, Reed, Bree Rikard, Christopher, Jackson, Abigail Abrams, Fisher, Steel, Cash Thaxton, Collin and Bentley Thaxton.
Due to the unusual circumstances created by the Covid-19 virus, a private graveside service for family only will be held on April 20th at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport with the Rev. Stephen Brannon officiating.
Memorials may be made to ASU-Newport or to the First United Methodist Church in Newport.
