She was predeceased by: her parents, John Bethel and Hazallee Bethel (Jackson); her husband Gerald Morris Winston; her son Gerald Winston Jr.; and her siblings, Imogene Doyle, Ruth Reynolds, Brenda Chambliss, J. T. Gardner, Roger Bethel and Leo Bethel.

She is survived by: her children, James E Winston, Michael Stephen Winston, Daniel Leo Winston, Burton Willis Winston, Linda Lou Winston and Judy Griggs; and her close friend Sally Robinette. She is also survived by her other daughter, fifteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
