She was predeceased by: her parents, Hebert Franklin and Maudie Alene Bridgman (Barber); her husband Carl Dean Brooks; and her children, Scottie Dean Brooks and Infant Regena Gay Brooks.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carla Layne of Oxford and Frankie Combs (Alfred "Buddy" Combs) of Newport; her sister Julia Newman (Ronnie) of Fort Worth, Texas; and her close friend Vicki Prince of Newport. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
