He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Brooks and Gladys Brooks (Beck); his siblings, Gordon, Roland "Bud" Brooks, Barbara Rynearson and Darlene Stromer; his daughter Twila Van Dell; his grandsons, Brian Freel and Joey Monroe; and his stepsons, Jack Greenlee and Robert Greenlee.
He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Phyllis Monroe, Kathryn Cross (John), Ramona Newman (Bob), Connie Bell and Rodney Brooks; his stepchildren, Richard Greenlee (Leny) and Jeanie Bard (Ed); his siblings, Joyce Bennett and Gary Brooks (Dee); and his brother-in-law Jack Stromer of Nebraska. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
