He is survived by: his wife Dewanda Triplett-Cavitt; his children, Pamela Lansford (Bryan) of Jonesboro, David Jr. Cavitt (Dora) of Henderson, AR, Paul Whitehead of Jonesboro and Raquel Shackleford (Lance) of Jonesboro; his stepchildren, Bruce Triplett (Judy) of Albany, IN, Angelia Bender (Brian) of Azle, TX, Danny Triplett (Amy) of Muncie, IN and Tina Triplett of Fort Worth, TX; his sister Bitha Cavitt of Corning; and his sister-in-law Ruth Cavitt of Corning. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
