He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thompson and Bertha Wheeler Thompson; his daughter Tracy Thompson; and his siblings, Joel Thompson and Gayland Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Thompson of Morrilton, Arkansas; his sons, Troy Thompson of Morrilton and John Gilbert of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and his sisters, Sallie Thompson of Morrilton, Coyla Thompson of Perryville and Kay Willis of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
