He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Thomey and Lucy Thomey; and his siblings, Harold, Charles, Raymond, Gerald, Geraldine Ward and Ema Sue Briley.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Thomey; his children, Mark Thomey (Marguerite) of Blountsville, Alabama and Cynthia Womack of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and his sisters, Clara Talley of Morrilton and Marguerite Holzeman of Morrilton. He is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
