Charles Van Hoke Obituary
Charles Van Hoke, age 73, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away, on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born June 19, 1950, in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late George Will Hoke and the late Mildred Van Meter Hoke. He was part owner of Jolly Rogers Marina on Lake Maumelle for several years. He was the owner and operator of Charlie's Hidden Harbor for the last 36 years, he never met a stranger and he loved to talk about fishing with all his friends and customers. Charles was of the Christian faith, formerly from Little Rock, he loved fishing, hunting, and sailing. He was a master scuba diver, taught boat education, and loved coaching Little League football. Charles was appointed by Mike Huckabee to lead the sanitation committee for the Arkansas River. Charles was a lover of all animals, especially his three dogs, Buster, Cookie and J.B. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years who is also his high school sweetheart, Mary Kathleen Smiley Hoke, son, Erik Hoke of Little Rock, daughter, Heather Hoke of Little Rock, nephew, Todd Havlik of Stuttgart. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bick Hoke, and sister, Pat Havlik.
A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 10 at Wolf Cemetery.
