He was predeceased by: his former wife Barbara Land; his daughter Doylene Ricks; his parents, Sam Land and Elise Morris Land; and his brother James Land.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Tanksley Elmore Land of Montrose; his sons, Sam S. Land, III, DeAndria of Crossett and Stacy Kellum (Renae) of Yellville; his son-in-law Franklin Ricks of Montrose; and his stepchildren, Chris Elmore (Tiffany) of Paragould, John Elmore (Michelle) of Montrose, India Martin (Lee) of Sheridan and Kelley Elmore of Montrose. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
