He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl "Bill" Mixon and Brenda Palmertree; his stepdaughter Jena Christine "Chrissy" Hester; his stepgrandson Aubyrn Thomas Hester; and his stepbrothers, Andy Mixon and Butch Tims.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Burns Mixon of Montrose; his son Joseph Wallis Mixon of Guntown, Mississippi; his stepson Buster Eugene Craig (Brooklyn) of Monroe, Louisiana; his stepmother Sharlote McCabe Mixon of Montrose; his stepbrothers, Brad Mixon of Walls, Chuck Mixon of Hernando and Dentye Tims of Byhalia, Mississippi; and his grandchildren, Jonthan Matthew Wallis Mixon, Isabella Nicole Mixon and Adin Wade Mixon.
