He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Obed Hartness and Vivian Mae Jordan Hartness; and his brother Billy Hartness. He is survived by: his daughter Ann Hartness; his niece Lisa Hartness Gibson (Cliff); and his nephew Mark Hartness (Hope) of Monticello.
