He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hopkins and Lillie Mae Wells Hopkins; his wife Joyce Causey Hopkins; his siblings, Madeline Montgomery and Roger Hopkins; and his brother-in-law Bobby Brown.

He is survived by: his daughters, Terri Cossey (Michael) and Holli Wood; his grandsons, Nate and Chase Wood; and his siblings, Danny Hopkins (Beth), Shelia Haskett and Gary Hopkins (Sandra). He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
