He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe D. Gilbert and Essie Clark Gilbert; and his siblings, George, Herbert, Hubert, James, Melvin, Louise Brown, Minnie Lee McPhail, Mary Lou McNealy and Ruby Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Lavender Gilbert; his children, Tony Gilbert of Monticello, AR, Debbie Queen (Dee) of Frankston, TX and Glenda Howard (Steve) of Santa Fe, NM; his grandson Owen Queen (Tori) of Neches, TX; his great grandchildren, Jonathan and Penny Queen; and his sisters, Jo Rita Franks of Meridian, ID, Doris Callison of Oakley, CA, Joyce Elliot of Gardnerville, NV and Shirley Gilbert of Jefferson, TX. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
