He is survived by: his sisters, Odel Coogan and Rosy Beth Coogan Lewis; his nephews, Paul Sewell and John Perron; his wife Florene Elizabeth Ferguson Coogan; his brother John Alfred Coogan; his sons, Edward Lee Coogan, James Edward Coogan, Jr. and Brian Christopher Coogan; his brother-in-law Virgil Lewis of Clarksville, Arkansas.; and his stepson Dennis Dilbeck.
