He was predeceased by: his mother Shirley Gaston. He is survived by: his father James H. Gaston; his children, Jack Gaston and Olivia Gaston; his siblings, David Gaston (Laurie), Sara Barton (John) and Karen Dellinger; his nephews, James C. Gaston, Hillary Walsh (Hannah Ledbetter), David Gaston, Nate Barton, Brynn Barton (Abby Sandlin) and Gray Dellinger; and his aunts, Connie Jackson, Sue Barksdale and Jane Lamb. He is also survived by cousins and dear friends.
