It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Mae Mahurin Brantley of McGehee, Arkansas, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Lois Mae Mahurin departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Lois Mae Mahurin may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Lois Mae Mahurin leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Monie Mae Hickey and Clarence James Mahurin. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Renee and Lois Nanette; her great grandchild Grover Thurston Bodiford IV; her sons-in-law, Paul Guidry and John McCann; her sister Carolyn Mahurin Ballard; her niece Kathryn Hall Norris (Mike Norris); and also, Emily Brantley Greer (Bodiford) and Morgan Kenneth Greer.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (200 E Waterman St, Dumas, AR 71639). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
