He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Angela Joel Gannaway; his parents, Edgar C. Gannaway and Pauline Borland Gannaway; his brother Cullen Gannaway; his son-in-law Bob Smiley; his brother-in-law Wes Tucker; his wife Meverine Duncan Long Gannaway; his children, Rhonda Long Smiley of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Karen Long Tyson (Kenneth) of Peach Orchard, Arkansas, Tonda Long Franklin (Greg) of Ruston, Louisiana, Keith Long (Melinda) of Hamburg, Arkansas and Jonathan Gannaway of Arkansas City, Arkansas.; his sister Mary "Cissy" Gannaway Tucker of Monticello; and his pet Blue. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: Arkansas City Baptist Church or C.B. King Memorial – Adult Center.
