He is survived by: his children, Jerry Don Avery of Cherokee Village and Nyla Ann Ray of Maynard; his grandson Brock Ray (Ashley) of Maynard; his great grandchildren, Briar Ray and Briley Nelson; and his siblings, Jim Avery (Lucille) and Mary Allen.
