He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Cates and Irene Buckley Cates; and his brother Henry Cates. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Rowland Cates; his daughter Carla Adams (Michael) of Pensacola, Florida; his stepsons, Ron Williams (Ester) of Navarre and Don Williams of Tallahassee, Florida; his brother Vernon Cates (Laura) of Pocahontas, Arkansas; his grandchildren, David Wood (Sneh) of London, Lenay Bibona (Andrew) of Milton, Amanda Marinko (Michael) of Crestview, Carlton Manning of Pensacola, Florida and Brooke Manning of Pensacola, Florida; and his great grandchildren, Tyla, Lily, Ava, Cayden, Jacob, Skyla, Layla and Clark.
Those attending must follow the directives issued by the Governor of Arkansas that include, but are not limited to, the following: wearing a face covering, signing the contact registry, and maintaining social distancing at all times.
