He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Patricia; his children, Jeromy Irwin, John Irwin, Sean Irwin, Nikki Irwin, Justis Baxter, Alex Baxter, Thomas Baxter and Rebekah Holt; his grandchildren, Allyson Whitaker, Matthew Whitcomb, David Whitcomb and Rylee "Pickle" Whitcomb; and his siblings, Terry Irwin (Jerri), Mark Irwin and Robyn Irwin Vanover.
