He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lawrence George and Jewel Collins George; his wife Virginia J. McDaniel George; his brother John George; and his brothers-in-law, Don McDaniel, Dale McDaniel and Ben Hollford.

He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, James McDaniel (Barbara), Wanda McDaniel Rice, Reva Hollford and Letsey McDaniel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
