Lila Dean Gurganus Obituary

Lila Dean Gurganus, 70, of Marmaduke, Arkansas passed away at St. Bernards Medical Center on November 17, 2023. She was born on February 24, 1953 in Knob, Arkansas to Frank and Ruth Yancey. She was a member of the Purcell Baptist Church in Marmaduke, Arkansas. Lila enjoyed going to the beach, playing bingo, listening to the rain, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include; husband: Keith Gurganus; two sons: Rodney Weatherspoon (Gelana) of Marmaduke, Arkansas and Dennis Weatherspoon of North Carolina; one daughter: Sissy Simpkins (Ron) of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Miranda Weatherspoon, Tiffany Weatherspoon, Madison Weatherspoon, Kristina Weatherspoon (Wyatt), Shaun Simpkins; seven great grandchildren: Andrew Henn, Mason Weatherspoon, Hadley Henn, Cayden Miller, Zane Chase, Gavyn Marshburn, Grayson Rowe; and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by; her parents: Frank and Ruth Yancey; two great grandchildren: Jocelynn Weatherspoon and Olivia Weatherspoon; two sisters: Helen Parrish and Goldie Wilcoxson; and two brothers: Alvie Yancey and Jimmy Yancey.

The family has requested private arrangements under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
