It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katie Carolyn Smith of Marmaduke, Arkansas, who passed away on December 18, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nunrey Hampton and Delphia Marie Hampton (Jones); her husband Jennings Dale Smith; and her siblings, Russel "Rusty" Hampton and Karen Rowland.
She is survived by: her children, Joe Smith (Theresa) of Michigan, Joel Smith of Marmaduke, Jennifer Vangilder (Carey) of Marmaduke, Elizabeth Keckler (Mike) of Michigan, Dawn Smith (Tim Lasley) of Marmaduke and Patti Harwell (Mike) of Paragould; and her siblings, Gene Hampton (Bonna) of St. Charles, Missouri and Elizabeth Ann Vangilder of Paragould. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Katie was such a kind and giving soul and loved making monthly donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
