He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Monroe and Alice Mae Coats Nichols; his brother Mervin Nichols, Sr.; and his stepson Kirk Porter. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Nichols; his children, Wendi Nichols of Wyoming, MI, AnnMarie Grabowski (Kyle) of Fife Lake, MI, Dawn Porter of Wyoming, MI, Jodi Crymes (Troy) of Easley, SC, Brenda Chavis (James) of Lawrenceville, GA, Randall Hoorn of Grand Rapids, MI, Perry Nichols (Susan) of Hudsonville, MI and Kevin Porter (Garby) of Lowell, MI; his grandchildren, Leanne Porter, Jacob Porter, Joshua Porter, Bryan Coffey, Melissa Craig, Franki Donze, Brandon Nichols, Rico Finney and Aidan Finney; and his great grandchildren, Breanna Rauch, Hasko Craig, Neicey Craig, Kaydance Rice, Kandyn Donze, Alexis Porter, Dawson Porter and Braelyn Porter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
