He was predeceased by: his parents, James Blanchard Alpuente Sr. and Eva Tindle Alpuente; his sons, Charles Edward Alpuente, Keith Patrick Alpuente and Daniel Stephan Alpuente; and his sister Claire Alpuente Stanley.

He is survived by: his wife Edna Mae Westbrook Alpuente; and his son James Thomas Alpuente (Karen).
