He was predeceased by: his parents, E. L. Shepherd and Thelma Hunter Shepherd; and his brother Hunter Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Vicki Holcombe (John) of Clarksdale, Holly Shepherd of Marianna, BJ Shepherd of Wynne and Bret Shepherd (Alison) of Wynne; his grandchildren, Jason Carter (Jessica), Katie Flowers (Taylor Allen), Megan Shepherd, Garrison Hobson, Mason Shepherd and William Lynn Shepherd III; and his great grandchildren, Owen Carter, William Carter and Maddox Flowers.
