He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Lee Covey and Amy Sue Watson Covey; his grandson Charles Allen Harris; and his siblings, Pauline Chism, J. L. Covey Jr. and Jimmy Don Covey.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Covey; his children, John Edward Covey (Lori) of Hawaii, Sandy Blair of Marianna and Michelle Criss (Greg) of Palestine, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Kadie Farrell (Nick), Bret Crick, Danielle Harris, Kimberlee Mavity (Daniel), Courtney Van Dyk (Adrian) and Hunter Criss (Hailey); and his brothers, Bill Bob Covey (Martina) of Georgia, Daviey Covey (Janet) of Magazine and Charlie Covey of Fayetteville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
