He was predeceased by: his parents, Teddy Fay Godwin and Estella Hettie Gann Godwin; his sisters, Evelyn Quick, Fayrene Hightower and Betty Lou Godwin; his grandson Aaron Bradley Godwin; and his brother-in-law Elmer Quick (Bob Hightower).
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Gardenhire Godwin; his children, Chris Godwin, Susan (Bruce Pyles), Brooks (Connie Godwin) and Stuart (Terry Godwin); his grandchildren, Bridget Freeman (Michael), Brittany Stubblefield (Joshua), Alisha Burton (Joshua), Levi Godwin (Danielle), Ryan Godwin (Britney), Aaron Godwin and Blake Godwin (Katie); and his great grandchildren, Madeline Freeman, Makenzie Freeman, Michaelyn Freeman, Deacon Stubblefield, Denton Stubblefield, Delsey Stubblefield, Delta Stubblefield, Declan Stubblefield, Delise Stubblefield, Clara Burton, Emeline Burton, Charlotte Burton, Nora Godwin, Sawyer Godwin, Adeline Bray, Otillia Godwin, Minette Godwin, Rhue Godwin, Miles Godwin, Ryker Godwin and Cohen Godwin.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be given to Gideon International or Lottie Moon. Donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Mansfield.
