She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Slate and Eunice Slate; her husband Roy Allen; her sisters, Rachel Dorrough, Ina Belle Hurt, Bertha Burrows and Betty Dodd; and her son Robert "Bobby" Ford.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Ruth Barnes (Virgina) of Newport News; her siblings, Linda Brown of Lake Spur and Colin Slate of Booneville; her grandchildren, Robert Ford Jr. of Virginia, Charlotte Ford of Louisiana, Saritta Ford of Louisiana, Dennis Daniels and David Daniels of Virginia; and her stepgrandchildren, James Morgan of Waldron and Leona Morgan of Missouri.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Rock Creek Baptist Church.
