He is survived by: his parents, Wilburn Carter and Lavada Jane Carter; his sons, Jerry Carter (Laura) of Mansfield and Thomas Burton Carter of Norfolk; his daughter-in-law Julie Carter of Alexandria; his grandsons, Mike Carter (Angie), Bryan Carter, Jason Carter and Chris Carter; his great grandchildren, Zachary Carter (Clain), Ryan Carter and Lexi Carter; and his great great grandchild Ember Mitchell.
