Donna Mae Wallace Obituary
Donna Mae Wallace, age 77, returned to the arms of her creator on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by many who loved her. Donna was born in 1945 as the third youngest of nine children. Made in the image of God, she was blessed in the art of creation. As a master dollmaker, wonderful painter, expert seamstress and quilter, meticulous woodworker, and nurturing gardener, she brought out the beauty and potential in everything, and everyone, she met. Her prized possession was a sign that lived in her kitchen "I kiss better than I cook," and boy, could she cook. She was quick witted, opinionated, and loved her family fiercely. Everyone knew her for her sense of humor, which she passed down to her descendants. She always pushed you to try your hardest and her praise was something that was treasured. A wonderful mother, she was heavily involved in raising her grandchild Candace Crow and was deeply loved by her grandchildren.
She is survived in death by her children Kimberly VanBuren and Brenda Layne, her grandchildren Candace (Keith) Crow and Olivia (Jack) Pate, her siblings Robert (Janet) Holloway, Charles Holloway, and Nadine (Jeff) Bashan, and beloved friends Margaret Wilkins and Jeaney Maxwell. She is remembered by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband Earl Gene Wallace, her grandson Gerald Edgar VanBuren III, her parents Robert Clyde and Tressie Holloway, and her siblings Mennen Holloway, Keith Holloway, Judy Montgomery, Betty Raymer, and Della Shorey.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Donna's favorite charity, Ethnos 360 - Holloway Car Repair Group (312 W 1st Street Sanford, FL 32771). Ethnos 360 is a missionary group that provides car repair services to those in need.
