He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gentry and Verna Mae Martin Gentry; his son Ronald Paul "Ronnie" Gentry; and his siblings, Marie, June Bernice, Linda, Juanita and Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Gentry; his daughters, Deborah Carl (Richard) of Jonesboro and Donna Trevathan (Dan) of Jonesboro, Arkansas.; his sister Betty Hendrix (Kenny) of Western Grove; his sister-in-law Jo Ann Brill of Ceres; his grandchildren, Tracy, Rachael, Ryan, Donnie, Christina, Sophie and Michael; and his great grandchildren, Kaden, Hudson, Ellisyn, Rowan, Nicholas, Kaleb, Haley, Hayden and Dylan Donald. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers any memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Helena in Helena, Arkansas, the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the Community United Methodist Church, Manila, Arkansas.
