He was predeceased by: his parents, John Justiss Smith and Elsie Burris Smith; his former wife Letha Mae Langley; and his sisters, Lorene Wilson and Irene Cheatham.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Stewart-South; his grandchildren, Allen Stewart (Melissa) and Larisa Huber (Anthony); his great grandchildren, Caleb Stewart and Cassidy Stewart of Pine Bluff; his wife Virginia Ables; and his children, David Ables (Lanette), William Ables (Nadine), Carolyn Mahaney (Jim), Doris Moore (Dennis), Billy Ables (Debbie) and Diane Hines (Kenneth). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
