He was predeceased by: his father Effrom (Mary McKeller Cooper); his wife Gloria Dean Brice; and his brothers, Effrom, Colvin, James Ray and Carvin Cooper.

He is survived by: his nephews, Larry Cooper, Jr. (Debbie) of Fayetteville, AR and Richard Cooper of Magnolia; his daughters, Mary Lowe (Terry) of Magnolia, Murline Livingston (late Morris) of Magnolia and Barbara Henderson (Jarvis) of Magnolia; his sister Marva Davis of Waldo; and his nephews, Shawn Jackson and Tony Cooper. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
