He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Orville Fanning and Thelma Calvet; his wife Mary Chris Fanning; his brother James Chevez; his children, Stephen Joe Fanning (Maria) of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Alan Jay Fanning of Beaumont, TX and Vaunda Fanning of Annona, TX; his stepchildren, Sherry Whittington of Magnolia, AR and Benny Dwayne Ogburn, Jr. (Vickie) of Hurst, TX; and his sister Beth Perez. He was also cherished by grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren.
