It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Freeman I. Hughes of Magnolia, Arkansas, who passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Hughes and Vara McWilliams Hughes; his sister Mary Looney; and the mother of his children Alverne Chambers Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wilson Hughes; and his children, David Hughes (Cindy) of Magnolia, Sara Hughes Gaines (Terry) of Little Rock, James Hughes of Magnolia, Joyce Wilson Parker (Carl) of Downsville, LA, Harry Wilson (Karen) of Antiqua and Debbie Wilson of Magnolia. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren, a sister-in-law.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. (420 N Jackson, Magnolia, AR 71753). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
