He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Edgar Smith and Venetia Oleta Smith (Wisener); his grandmother Leola Wisener; his siblings, Jimmy Wayne Smith and Martha Cheatham; and his brothers-in-law, Dewey Cheatham, George Montgomery and Eddie Souter.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Montgomery Smith of Magnolia; his daughter Stacy Stanton of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania; his brother Derrill Smith (Lydia) of El Dorado; his siblings-in-law, Mary Souter of Taylor, Richard Montgomery of Magnolia, Billy Montgomery of Magnolia and Bryan Montgomery of Magnolia; and his nephews, Scott Smith (Ashley) of El Dorado and Jeff Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas..
