He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Hughes and Ruby Van Cleave Hughes; his son Wendell Cary Hughes; and his brothers, Bob and Jerry Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Riner Hughes of Magnolia; his daughter Andrea Huebner of Cudahy, Wisconsin; his stepchildren, Marla Gunnels (Robert) and Chris Story (Hannah) of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Peyton and Kasey Huebner of Cudahy, Wisconsin; his stepgrandchildren, Erin Nickerson (Jason) of Little Rock, Alex Story of Magnolia, Ashley Franklin (Jonathan) of Magnolia, Maggie Gunnels of Magnolia, Gwen Gunnels of Magnolia and Bobby Gunnels of Magnolia; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Max and Carly Nickerson of Little Rock. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
