It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Herman Lehwald of Magnolia, Arkansas, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 24, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Lehwald; his sisters, Mary Lofgren and Carol Dull; his sister-in-law Jane Lehwald; his daughters, Margaret Philbrick and Carly Lehwald; his grandchildren, Ben Lehwald, Caleb, Jessie (Yero) and Nathaniel Philbrick; his grandson-in-law Michael Yero; and his pet Chance. He was also cherished by His seventeen nieces and nephews.

“I dated Charlie for 14 years. We were kindred spirits and he inspired me more than he even knew. I was the news editor at The Huntsville Item and Charlie was drilling an oil well there. We met at the apartment pool and I wrote a business story about his venture. Years later, Charlie said come to Dallas, I'll pay for the hotel room, you call around and within three weeks, I went to work for Hill & Knowlton, the world's largest public relations firm, as an account executive. It was a great ride.”
