He was predeceased by: his former wife Glenda Jane Barnard (Hewitt); his parents, Norman Barnard and Ray Barnard; and his siblings, Jackie, A. C. Barnard and Vola Finney.
He is survived by: his wife Retha Kay Barnard; his children, Roy J. Barnard (Becca) of California, Joseph Mathews of Charleston, Arkansas and Ellen Kay Mayham (Eric) of Atlanta, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Jeremy, Heather, Seth, Taylor, Corey, Tiffany, Kristen, Julia and Jamie.
Memorials may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Caulksville.
