He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hoyt Akins and Charlene Prince Akins; his sister Vicki Akins Robenson; and his son Christopher Halbert Akins. He is survived by: his children, William Hoyt Akins (Lorie) of Benton, AR and Tracey Akins Betts (Eddy) of Camden, Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Chad Betts (Morgan), Walker Akins (Ashley), Dustin Pace, Summer Friemel (Jared) and Stephanie Tutor (Bobby). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Buie Funeral Home- Sheridan (1301 S Rock St, Sheridan, AR 72150). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Olive Hill Cemetery (14514 Chicot Rd, Mabelvale, AR 72103).
