He was predeceased by: his parents, Lexi Priest and Velma Priest (Simmons); his wife Laverne; his siblings, Evelyn Priest, Thomas Priest and Donald Priest; and his son David Priest.
He is survived by: his former wife Violet Lavern Hillis; his children, Dexter Priest, Lester Priest (Sandra), Mark Priest (Julie), Timothy Priest and Ellen Killebrew (Jim); his close friend Hattie Carty; and also James Priest. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
