He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Simpson Smith; his parents, George Smith and Laura Owens Smith; and his siblings, George Smith, Garland Smith, Doyle Smith, Pauline Foster and Lucy Mae Dorough.
He is survived by: his sister Helen Jackson of Texarkana; his daughters, Joanna Smith, Mary Kay Calvert (Mike) and Sue Ellen Stevens (Matt); his grandchildren, Timothy Calvert (Anna), Kaleigh McLane (Ryan), Andrew Calvert (Raquel), Faith Calvert and Lauren Moon (Trevor); and his great grandchildren, Jon McLane, Matt McLane, Abi McLane, Jensen Calvert, Addison Moon and Grant Moon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
