He was predeceased by: his parents, Royce Young and Bettye Young. He is survived by: his wife Diane Johnson (Settle); his children, Robert Thornton (Tina), Joseph Johnson, Jr. (Sandy) and Kaci Pannell; his siblings, Steve Johnson, Patrice Griggs, Brian Johnson (Bridget) and Tamara Lean (Martin); and his parents-in-law, Thad and Ruth Gray. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
