He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elbert Barnes and Hazel Mae Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Barnes; his son David Christopher Barnes; his grandson Parker Whitaker (Jayden); and his sisters, Angelia Barnes, Linda Gardner, Sandy Smith (Randy), Wanda Spears (Tina), Reno Casteen (Loretta) and Bland Casteen (Paula).
