He was predeceased by: his parents, L. F. King and Eunice June "Nanny" King; his children, Paul Terry King and Sylvia Jill King McWhorter; his grandsons, David Kain McWhorter and Thomas Jefferson Davis; his great grandchild Callie Brooke King; his siblings, L. F., Merlyn, Bert King and Yvonne King Thornton; and his sons-in-law, James Davis and David McWhorter.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Stevens King; and his children, Lynne Davis, Sonja Parish (Dwayne), Shelia Jester (James), Stueart Cunningham, Steve Cunningham (Evelyn) and Marlowe King (Sherry). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
