He was predeceased by: his parents, B. C. Griffin and Annie Bell Bailey; and his siblings, Lorene Moore, Zannie Mae Bailey, Annie Jean Bailey, Robert Bailey and Leodis Threadgill.

He is survived by: his pet Baylo; his wife Barbara Kay Bailey of Lockesburg; his children, Avery Haney of Texarkana, Jason Gunnells of Lockesburg, Lamont Whitfield of Oklahoma City and Lakeia Bailey of Tulsa; and his siblings, Albert Williams of Foreman, Billy Bailey (Necie), Kervin Bailey Idabel and Mary Bailey (Dorothy Davis) of Hugo. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
