With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Virginia Lee Swicegood Purifoy (Little Rock, Arkansas), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Virginia Lee Swicegood left this world on March 31, 2025 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ike Swicegood and Loti Swicegood; and her siblings, Ike Swicegood, John Swicegood, Joann Shackleford, Nita Swicegood, Anne Sniff, Margie Douglass and Lena May Irby.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Purifoy Capehart (Charles) of Olathe, KS, Jim Purifoy (Becky) of Lee's Summit, MO and Kevin Purifoy (Pat) of Little Rock, AR.; her grandchildren, Nick Purifoy (Kate) of Prairie Village, KS, Alex Purifoy of New York City, NY, Amanda Capehart-May (Jeremiah) of Olathe, KS and Lindsey Capehart of New York City, NY.; and her great grandchild Madeline May of Prairie Village, KS.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Smith Family Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, AR 72205). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery (1501 W Maryland Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72120).
